چکیده

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: H. pylori chronic atrophic gastritis is a premalignant lesion, and its staging, according to OLGA OLGIM systems aims identify patients at increased risk of developing gastric cancer optimize their follow-up. GastroPanel®, serum biomarkers panel including pepsinogen I (PGI), II (PGII), Gastrin 17 (G17) anti- antibodies noninvasive test for adenocarcinoma assessment in patients. OBJECTIVE: Prospective study evaluate the concordance between grading systems, as well GastroPanel´s performance with lesions secondary Brazil. METHODS: Patients confirmed by histology were recruited from gastrointestinal clinic University Hospital. All participants underwent endoscopic examination biopsies which reported updated Sydney system (OLGA OLGIM). Blood samples collected serological analysis (GastroPanel®, Biohit, Helsinki, Finland). The cut off values used define high those recommended manufacturer: PGI ≤30 µm/L PGI/PGII ≤3. RESULTS: 41 recruited: 28 women, 13 men, mean age 67.3 (47-89, SD: 9.6) years. By system, obtained: 0 (n=1), (n=7), (n=17), III (n=9), IV (n=7). (n=14), (n=5), (n=10), (n=2). Regarding histological staging among staged low (OLGA/OLGIM 0, II) IV) development, rate found both classifications was 85.4%. Considering patients, thus included least one final distribution our sample considered 24 low-risk high-risk development cancer. To determine GastroPanel® whether patient would be or cancer, showed sensitivity, specificity accuracy 0.47 (95%CI: 0.26-0.69), 0.67 0.47-0.82), 0.58 0.43-0.72), respectively, while 0.06 0.01-0.27), 0.83 0.64-0.93) 0.51 0.36-0.66), respectively. CONCLUSION: presented substantial themselves. Simultaneous use classification identification’s Biomarker not effective distinguish studied population. Further studies are needed validate clinical practice

Background and Objective: Helicobacter pylori has several strains with different degrees of virulence. The aim of this study was to detect two major important virulence factors, cagA/vacA genotypes, and to determine correlations among different cagA/vacA genotypes and histological features of chronic gastritis in Iranian patients. Methods: In this cross- sectional study, Gastric bi...

Presence of cagA Gene in Patients with Gastric Cancer and Gastritis with Helicobacter pylori Infection

Background and purpose: Helicobacter pylori is a gram-negative, micro-aerophilic, and spiral-shaped bacillus. Infection with this bacterium can lead to gastritis, ulcers, and even gastric cancer. This study was conducted to evaluate the presence of the cagA gene among patients with gastritis and gastric cancer. Materials and methods: This study was performed in patients with gastritis (n=40) a...

The Immunohistochemistry and Toluidine Blue Roles for Helicobacter pylori Detection in Patients with Gastritis

Background: Helicobacter pylori, which is associated with many upper gastrointestinal diseases, is found in half of the population of the world. Several special stains and immunohistochemistry stain for H. pylori are available. The need for and usefulness of immunohistochemical (IHC) technique has been debated for years. Toluidine blue is a simple stain for microbiological studies and is easily...

THE ASSOCIATION OF CAMPYLOBACTER PYLORI (HELICOBACTER PYLORI) WITH GASTRITIS AND PEPTIC ULCER

We studied the relationship between gastroduodenal inflammation and the presence of Campylobaeter pylori from biopsy specimens of the gastric mucosa in 91 patients with gastritis with or without ulcers and 9 controls, healthy or suffering from other diseases. 68 of the patients were positive for the presence of C. pylori in their gastric mucosa. C. pylori was confirmed bacteriohistological...

Assessment of the relationship between serum fibrinogen level and chronic Helicobacter pylori infection in patients with or without

Abstract Background: Infectious agents such as Chlamydia pneumonia or Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) have been linked to ischemic heart disease (IHD) as the epidemiologic studies have shown. Other studies believed that raised plasma fibrinogen level has been claimed as a possible link between H. pylori infection and IHD. Methods: An analytic cross-sectional study was undertaken on 261 patient...
